Sophie and Frédéric attended the Annual Meeting of the Society for Molecular Biology and Evolution (SMBE 2023) held as a multi-site urban meeting in the beautiful city centre of Ferrara (Italy), a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site.
Sophie presented a poster on chitinase gene evolution in convergent myrmecophagous mammals considering both the mammalian host species genomes and their associated gut microbiomes.
Frédéric gave an integrative talk on the role of contingency in the convergent evolution of ant-eating mammals as part of the "Evolution on repeat in the genomics era" symposium by presenting the latest results obtained on the three axes of the ConvergeAnt project.
